đź—Łđź™… Labour Disputes

Federal Capital Territory : Police constables and corporals serving under the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Abuja, have lamented that the command is short-changing them by denying them the “N40,000 increment approved by the Nigerian government”.

Advisory : Addressing this grievance is critical to ensure morale and effective law enforcement. Authorities should investigate these claims and implement the necessary wage increments promptly.

🗣❌ Political Protest

Federal Capital Territory : The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has called on the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, and the United Nations Secretary-General in New York to exert pressure on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to refrain from deploying armed security operatives against peaceful protesters planning to hold demonstrations on October 1, 2024, in protest of rising living costs and bad governance

Advisory : Authorities must ensure that peaceful protests are allowed in accordance with democratic rights, while maintaining public order and safety.

🔥 Fire Outbreak

Borno : Abdulkareem Haruna, a Nigerian journalist with HumAngle, and his family experienced a horrific tragedy on Monday morning when their home in Maiduguri, Borno State was hit by gas explosion

Advisory : In both cases, thorough investigations should be conducted to determine the causes, and preventive safety measures should be strengthened in public buildings and residential areas.

Transportation Accident

Jigawa : A commercial bus driver identified as Usman Idris has crushed six pedestrians along Kano-Gumel road, in Gagarawa village, Ringim LGA of Jigawa State.

Advisory : Road safety measures and speed limits should be strictly enforced to prevent such fatal accidents.
